Our 2019 Year in Review

Another year, another constellation of triumphs and challenges under our belts! Our 2019 involved awards, conferences, internal tweaks, and of course helping our clients grow and achieve their goals. We’d like to thank all of the businesses and organizations that have and continue to choose Eri Design for their digital needs. Without you, none of this would be possible. Here’s our 2019 year in review!

Riding last year’s highs

Part of our 2019 excitement actually stemmed from the work we did in 2018. If you remember from our last year in review post, we launched websites for Clark University and Insight Meditation Society. Both Clark and IMS won a WebAward for Outstanding Website, while Clark also won a W3 and Communicator Award for Web Design Excellence. These were two of our recent ambitious projects and we’re glad they’re getting the recognition they deserve.

Supporting the higher education community

We kickstarted 2019 by sponsoring a WPCampus Online conference on higher education professional development in January. WPCampus is a community that brings together WordPress and higher education, and part of their mission is to make WordPress more accessible and ADA compliant. We share the same vision, so it only made sense to support them and sponsor the event.

Back to our roots

My senior partner Raffi DerSimonian and I visited the Becker College campus to give a talk on digital marketing and website design. I am a graduate of Becker College, and Raffi was formerly employed there as the Director of Alumni Affairs and Annual Fund and Director of Marketing & Communications. It was a great opportunity to give back to the community that helped shape Eri Design.

Internal expansion

Like every year, we made some internal changes in 2019 to keep our business at the pillar of excellence. Part of this process was hiring our new Business Development Associate, Jarrod Erskine. Jarrod is an excellent communicator and has a natural talent for building relationships. We’re happy to have him helping us find new opportunities.

In addition to Jarrod, we hired a new Senior Web Developer, Cary Briel. Cary is an application developer and has been working with WordPress since 2011. We also hired Ben Bond, who is a full-stack developer with experience in building custom and complex WordPress sites. Cary and Ben bring over 20 years of combined experience to our team, further strengthening our core of WordPress specialists.

As we look ahead to expanding our client base even further, we announced our referral program in October. To put it simply, if you refer a business or friend and we ultimately sign a contract with them, we’ll give you $500 as a thank you. Talk about easy money! Our 2019 Projects

Wisdom Publications

Wisdom Publications is one of the world’s leading non-profit publishers of Buddhist and meditation content. We helped Wisdom envision and build an e-commerce website called “Wisdom Experience” that will help their organization become a leader in online meditation and Buddhist content, such as masterclasses, courses, podcasts, ebooks, and more. Within the first couple of months of the new site launch, Wisdom was able to generate record-breaking online sales. Read our full case study here.

Tufts University

We got to shift gears with the web application project we did for Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. Informally known as Tufts Farm Field, it’s a public park that allows people to walk their pets. We developed a web application where users can register their pets and track their status, making the process easier for end-users and eliminating all manual paperwork for Tufts’ administrators.

Of course, we worked on several other projects throughout the year such as VectorFive Exhibits, FTF Behavioral, FlexoExport, Empire Dealer Services, and more.
We’re proud to announce that we have also partnered with Municipal Police Institute and UMass Medical School on website redesign projects. These projects are still in the works, so check out our work page from time to time to see when they’re launched!

Wrapping up the decade

In the past decade, we have evolved from a small business to a local powerhouse with remarkable things on the horizon. New team members and opportunities allow us to create beautiful experiences for the betterment of our partners. Again, we want to sincerely thank all of our clients who make this growth possible. Let’s make the 2020s even greater!
