The 2025 Slate Summit rolled into Las Vegas with 4,300 attendees, repping more than 2,000 institutions.
At about 547,599 active users in the Slate universe and 200 more institutions joining in each year, it’s becoming harder and harder to find institutions who aren’t using Slate.
Some of the best bits from Slate Summit 2025? First off, you can now completely customize the front home page dashboard of a person record. That’s right, you can finally kick all the default Slate clutter to the curb and replace it with exactly what you want to see. Liberating.
The event logistics were also peak Technolutions. The QR code game was flawless: scanners, printers, and registration lines so smooth I wanted to bottle the process and bring it to every Open House. Chef’s kiss. Meanwhile, the after party gave us an actual wedding (?!), Alexander cruising around on a shark-mobile, and the High Roller observation wheel breaking down for 90 minutes. Honestly, 10/10 entertainment value. And don’t get me started on Chuck Wilson popping out of a magician’s box.
Feature-wise, Slate AI got some major upgrades. We can now read PDFs, scanned docs, essays, and transcripts in bulk, pull in content from “knowledge sources” like internal policy documents or the open web, and even run your own chatbot right on your website. Being able to suitcase datasets is a huge win for those in the Slack group creating custom magic. But my personal favorite for keeping the human touch? Cadences—structured, AI-assisted steps that help staff nurture relationships over time while still leaving the important moments to actual humans. And for those waiting for a better way to report than Reports, Query Analysis now blurs the line between queries and reports, serving up the main takeaways without all the configuring.
Forms and events didn’t get left out. Multi-page forms are here, with click-to-sign e-signatures and itemized receipts that can even include discounts. Event comms can now be filtered by how close you are to the big day (hallelujah!) and meeting invites can go straight into attendees’ calendars with live cancellation updates. The only surprise? The usually rowdy audience stayed oddly quiet this year—maybe the 900 gallons of conference coffee just didn’t cut it. Between the faster workflows, clever AI tricks, and customizable dashboards, Technolutions is clearly on a mission to make our lives easier… if only to get you out the door and to happy hour a few clicks quicker!
