For Immediate Release – Worcester, MA; Portland, ME. ERI Design has received a silver medal for its work on the Worcester State University website as part of the 18th Annual Davey Awards hosted by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA). For almost two decades, the AIVA has commemorated the work of strategic, creative, and technical professionals. The Davey Awards is sanctioned and judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms.

ERI has been working with Worcester State University to reinvigorate its website, content strategy plan, and video assets in a way that reflects the significant diversity of the institution. Through its signature design process, ERI helped to uncover the trademark brand features, strategic planning priorities, stakeholder insights, and every component that makes the university unique. Kelly Lin, Director of Marketing and Communications at Worcester State University, was pleased with the outcome of their partnership with ERI.

“We knew it was important to invest in a thorough, inclusive, and comprehensive strategic discovery process as the foundation for creating a shared vision of what the website needed to accomplish, and how it could most authentically reflect the Worcester State University experience,” said Lin. “The culmination of our collaboration with ERI was a revitalized, mobile-first design system grounded on user-friendly interactive features, inspiring videos featuring our diverse student body, and a personalized system of navigation for all audience members.”

Project lead and ERI’s Chief Strategy Officer, Raffi DerSimonian, was excited to learn that ERI received this national accolade.

“Working with WooState has been a true pleasure from kick-off to launch, and we are honored to have had the opportunity to serve as their strategic partner on this important initiative. We attribute the success of the project to the collaborative relationship with WooState’s marketing and communications team, core website team, and subject-matter experts representing a wide array of departments, programs and offices.”

ERI welcomes the silver Davey Award as a symbol of the tremendous impact website design has on the full spectrum of operations and opportunities of higher education institutions. For prospective students, a college or university’s main website is its digital gateway to the world and should be a thoroughly welcoming and engaging connecting point for their enrollment efforts. For students, parents, faculty, and staff, a website is a navigational platform to explore and participate in the intricacies of the institution. “Although the vastness and complexities of the internet can create distractions and overwhelming choices, a well-designed, content-rich website can be the foundation of an institution’s ongoing connection with all its diverse stakeholder groups and audiences,” said DerSimonian.
